  1. BGCBangor Blue Party

The Boys & Girls Club of Bangor is hosting their Blue Party to celebrate National Boys & Girls Club Week! There will be tons of stuff for the kids to do as well as a COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic. A consent form will need to be filled out to receive the vaccine and can be printed by CLICKING HERE, you can pick one up in the lobby of BangorHousing (we still are not allowing the public into the building but there will be forms in the lobby), and there will be consent forms to fill out at the event. If possible, please come with a filled-out consent form to make the process go faster. This fun-filled event will be open to the public, so come celebrate with us!

  2. HUD Notice PIH 2021-14

On May 4, 2021, the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development published Notice PIH 2021-14 (HA), which revised Notice PIH 2020-33, PIH 2020-13, and PIH 2020-05 and the regulatory waivers and alternative requirements for the public housing and Housing Choice Voucher (“HCV”) program. Among other things, Notice PIH 2021-14 changes the period of eligibility for many public housing and HCV waivers and alternative requirements that previously ended prior to December 31, 2021, to December 31, 2021.

The Board of Commissioners for the Housing Authority of the City of Bangor adopted the waivers set forth in PIH 2021-14 on May 19, 2021. The link below includes the waivers and alternative requirements adopted by the Board of Commissioners and the period of eligibility for each waiver or alternative requirements.

If you have any questions about these temporary changes and how they may apply to you, please let us know at (207) 942-6365.

  4. BangorHousing Partners with PCHC for Vaccines

Thanks to a partnership with PCHC – Penobscot Community Health Care, we will be working towards giving our Residents the opportunity to receive the vaccine when it is their turn, according to the CDC guidelines. Moving forward we will be in contact with BangorHousing Residents who are eligible, once they become eligible, to schedule another clinic like this one. This is a new partnership and we are still working out the logistics for the upcoming changes to the age-requirements, but we are excited to be continuing our goal of helping our Residents.

Here is Mrs. M receiving her first round of the COVID vaccine here at our community center.
