  1. New BangorHousing Liaison Officer

    Who Am I?

My name is Officer Tyler Rusby. I am the New Housing Liaison. I have been with The Bangor Police Department for 7 years.  I am a Bomb Squad Technician on the Departments Bomb Squad and a Drug Recognition Expert.

    About me.

I spend most of my free time during warmer weather doing things outside. Hunting, Fishing, Camping mostly. In the winter I spend time riding my snowmobile around the State. I enjoy doing all of these activities with my friends and family, but am not opposed to relaxing on the couch with my wife and son yellow lab Charlie and two cats Dobby and Tonks.

Why did I apply for this position?

I wanted to be resource to the Housing Community and a positive role model for the youth who live here.

     My goals for this position?

I hope to be proactive in the community and engage its citizens in functions to create a positive relationship between the Police Departments and the Housing residents.

What I enjoy about police work

I like not knowing what the day will bring. In Police work your day can go from 0-100 mph in a matter of seconds. I enjoy the variety of calls for service and the ability to help those who are in the darkest hour and time of need.

To Close My Quote for the Community I serve….

Please do not hesitate to reach out with questions comments or concerns. I want to help you in any way I can.

  4. BHA Waivers (Updated)

On July 2, 2020, the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development published Notice PIH 2020-13 (HA), REV-1, which revised Notice PIH 2020-05 and the regulatory waivers and alternative requirements for the public housing and Housing Choice Voucher (“HCV”) program. Among other things, Notice PIH 2020-13 changes the period of eligibility for public housing and HCV waivers and alternative requirements that previously ended prior to December 31, 2020, to December 31, 2020. Other changes include:

o  For any housing quality standards (“HQS”) provision that authorizes a Public Housing Agency (“PHA”) to rely upon an owner’s certification as to the absence of life-threatening conditions, the PHA is now required to perform an inspection of the unit no later than 1 year from the date of the owner’s certification, rather than no later than October 31, 2020.

o For any PHA that employs biennial HQS inspections, the PHA is required to perform an inspection as soon as reasonably possible but no later than 1 year from the date on which the biennial inspection would have been required in the absence of a waiver,

rather than no later than October 31, 2020.

The link below includes the waivers and alternative requirements adopted by the BHA Board of Commissioners and the period of eligibility for each waiver or alternative requirements.

If you have any questions about these temporary changes and how they may apply to you, please let us know at (207) 942-6365.
