The Maine Association of Public Housing Directors offers a yearly scholarship opportunity to graduating seniors and college students.  Applicants must be residents of Public Housing / Section 8 / Low Income / Subsidized Housing.  For other eligibility requirements and applications, please visit MAPHD’s Scholarship Website.

NERC/NAHRO

In 1993 the New England Regional Council of NAHRO established the Allan R. Andrews Scholarship Fund. This Fund was established in memory of Allan R. Andrews who was the dedicated, creative, and effective administrator of the Springfield, Massachusetts, Redevelopment Authority for many years. His active association with NERC/NAHRO spanned three decades during which he represented New England as President from 1978-1981 and as a member of the Board of Governors from 1977-1987. The NERC Scholarship Committee accepts and reviews applications, and the winner or winners are notified in mid-May. At a special luncheon during NERC/NAHRO’s Annual Conference in June, a formal presentation is made and the winners are invited to say a few words of acceptance. The Scholarship Committee awards scholarship money directly to the winning applicants once proof of registration at the college or university is received. The Committee will determine the number and amounts of the scholarships; no scholarship will be less than $1,000. Please read the rules and application very carefully.
