BangorHousing Holds Splash Pad Grand Opening

On Thursday August, 22nd 2019 hundreds of people gathered to help BangorHousing officially open the Capehart Play Park and Splash Pad. Staff, along with countless community members and partners, joined at the Splash Pad to put the final touch on the multi-year project.

“For kids in our neighborhood, they don’t have opportunities in terms of transportation to go other places, so we are incredibly proud to say that this is one of the coolest places to come in the city of Bangor. They can invite their friends and be incredibly proud of that. Capehart kids can conquer the world and do anything, this is just one more opportunity for them to have fun, grow up, and be the next generation of leaders in our city, and in our country.” – Mike Myatt, Executive Director of BangorHousing

The park includes on-site parking, a fenced in basketball court, a walking path around the perimeter, exercise equipment, a state of the art playground, covered picnic tables, and of course the Splash Pad.

The Capehart Play Park and Splash Pad is open 8am-dusk daily while its warm (Splash Pad), is open to the public, and is free of charge.
